Jonathan Corbi

Jonathan Corbi is a graduate of Mercyhurst University’s Walker School of Business, where he earned a B.A. in Business Studies, concentrated in Sports Management with a Minor in Communications. Prior to attending Mercyhurst, he was a graduate of Niagara County Community College where he obtained an A.A.S in Sports Management. He has recently completed courses at SMWW in Baseball General Management/Scouting and Baseball Analytics. Jon’s most recent position was an internship in Operations with the MilB Erie Seawolves for the 2016 season. (Detroit Tigers AA Affiliate).

At NCCC Jon was a student-athlete pitcher in the starting rotation. In his sophomore year he helped lead the team to the 2012 JUCO World Series where he was named to the 2012 World Series All-Tournament Team.  He was recruited by several D-1 and D-11 colleges and accepted a full scholarship to Mercyhurst University where he pitched in relief as a junior and then earned a spot in the starting rotation.  He was injured in his senior year but fought his way back as a red shirt senior into the starting rotation.   He pitched the elimination game in the North Atlantic Regional Championship series striking out 7 in 4.2 scoreless innings, advancing the Lakers into the North Atlantic Regional Championship which they won. The Mercyhurst Lakers went on to their first ever trip to the D-11 College World Series and finished fourth in the country.  Jon was scouted by several MLB teams while playing college baseball prior to his injury.

As a former college player, Jon has the knowledge and skill-set necessary to evaluate talent. He is a leader, with a working knowledge of baseball and strong communication skills.  Jon is ready to continue his career in baseball anywhere in the country where he will bring together the attributes that come from competing at a high level, his strong educational background and work ethic to contribute to the success of your organization.
