Jonathan Vazquez Santiago

Jonathan Vazquez is a dedicated baseball executive, scout, and league founder whose career has been defined by his commitment to creating opportunities for overlooked and underserved players. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Vazquez is the Founder, President, and Commissioner of the Jacksonville Competitive Baseball League (JCBL) — a nonprofit, independent league designed to become a major hub for international baseball talent.

With over twenty years of involvement in the game, Vazquez has built his career through hands-on experience in player development, coaching, scouting, operations, and baseball leadership. He has coached locally, contributed to youth development programs, and worked directly with amateur and professional players, earning a reputation for his ability to identify talent, build trust with players, and elevate competitive environments.

Vazquez recently completed the Baseball General Manager & Scouting course with Sports Management Worldwide, studying under respected baseball executives Dan Evans and Hank Jones. His coursework involved advanced scouting, roster construction, player evaluation, contract analysis, and front-office decision-making. Through SMWW, he produced scouting reports on professional and amateur players, conducted GM-level analytical exercises, and built a comprehensive final project that included interviews with global baseball executives.

 He has built JCBL into a growing baseball ecosystem that features competitive play, player analytics, video scouting, Rapsodo data collection, international recruitment pathways, All-Star events, HR Derby showcases, and a culture centered on giving players real opportunities to advance their careers.

Vazquez has also developed strong relationships within the baseball community, working with local athletic directors,  professional players, Baseball United personnel, and community partners to strengthen baseball access across Jacksonville and St. Augustine. His long-term vision includes expanding JCBL to multiple teams, building a dedicated baseball complex, hosting international events, and establishing JCBL as one of the premier independent development leagues in the United States.
