Kyle Deering

Lafayette, Tennessee, United States

I am 23 years old and from a small town in Tennessee called Lafayette. I graduated from Macon County High School in 2005 where I played baseball for 4 years earning All-State honors as a catcher my junior and senior years. I went on to play 2 years of college baseball at Cumberland University and majored in Health/ Physical Education and graduated this past summer. I ended up having Tommy John Surgery my first year, and I graduated in 3 years, so I decided to go ahead and begin my career. I am currently a high school P.E./Health teacher at Macon County High School as well as Head Junior High Baseball Coach and Assistant High School Baseball Coach. I have recently done some associate scouting ( "bird dog scout") for the New York Mets, and I am excited and grateful about the opportunity at a young age. My future career goals are to break into professional baseball or college baseball full-time. I want to become a full-time scout and/or work in the front office of a MLB team when I get the opportunity, or I would like to coach college baseball at the Division 1 level or be a recruiter for a D1 school. My ultimate dream job would be to become the General Manager of a MLB team sometime down the road.
