Michael Harris is a professional educator whose primary goal is to obtain certification and employment in the world of sports as a professional scout in the National Football League.

In the 41 years that he has worked as an educator and sports advisor, Michael has his eyes set on a new journey in his career path. He has proudly worked with the NFL (Fuel Up to Play - 60) in collaboration with the Atlanta Falcons.

When he’s not watching NFL games, Michael enjoys participating in writing. Michael is the author of several sportsbooks: “A Culture of Steroid Use Among High School Athletes, The Secret Crisis of Body Obsession, What Happens When the Ball Goes? Surviving the NFL Career Gap, Behind the Star The History of Back-Up Quarterbacks(The Dallas Cowboys 1960-2019) and the Atlanta Falcons “53 Biggest Comebacks” Season 53 (1966 to 2019)

Michael is employed by the DeKalb County School District as an Interrelated Specialist and ESOL Instructor, for the past seventeen years. Most of his duties involve teaching the English Language Proficiency Standard Course of Study and instructing English language learners to read, speak, listen, and write English, so they can achieve grade-level proficiency in all academic areas.

When Michael was still in college at Shaw University, he was interested in two things: education and football. When he learned about his invitation as a free agent in the 1980 tryouts with the Dallas Cowboys, he knew this is where his professional future would take him.

Michael has worked on successful marketing campaigns that have brought over $5,000,000 in potential grants for new turf and funding for its athletic programs through (NFL Grassroots) He’s been recognized within The DCSD by being given the “Teacher of the Year 2014 and 2018” award.

He lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and has five children ranging from ages 44 to 21. The youngest child Michael J. Harris is a two-time All-Conference (ODAC), Nose Tackle with Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
