I am a graduate of the SMWW Hockey GM and Scouting Course, Summer 2008.   Additionally, I graduated from the University of Miami Class of 2009 with a degree in Sport Administration.
My practical hockey experience includes an internship with the Tampa Bay Lightning  Hockey Operations Department.  There I was in charge of updating Depth Charts and salary cap situations for all teams; submitting projected lines and converted statistics to GM Brian Lawton; creating a Draft Board to illustrate the recapitulation of all picks for the upcoming NHL Draft; and other projects that maximized the efficiency of the department.
Additionally, I was brought back by the Lightning to work with the Video Coach on a special assignment.  During this time, I clipped and edited highlight videos of the prospects of interest for the 2009 NHL Draft.  I discussed prospects' strengths and weaknesses with GM Brian Lawton, Head Coach Rick Tocchet, and Assistant Coach Wes Walz.  Upon completion of this assignment, I assisted the Video Coach with the editing of Unrestricted Free Agent video highlights.
I have been mentored by Bill Torrey, the former GM of the Oakland Seals, New York Islanders, and Florida Panthers.  Mr. Torrey was the architect of the Islanders' four consecutive Stanley Cup Champions.
I have also spent a weekend with Jared Bednar, the GM/Head Coach of the South Carolina Stingrays.  Mr. Bednar and I discussed the strategies needed to build a winning roster in the off-season and manage it throughout the year.  His knowledge was evident, as he ultimately led the team to the 2009 ECHL Kelly Cup.
I have practical knowledge of Rinknet Scouting Software, as well as VEGA Hockey Video Editor.
